Nikon 50mm ƒ1.8

The Nikon 50mm f1.8 is a bit of a lens that I don’t use very often.  It used to be that a very fast 50mm lens was the standard lens that came with cameras.  This standard seems to have gone away in favor of a 28-80mm range zoom.  I don’t use the 50mm lens very often except when I desperately need the extra light that the f1.8 aperture offers.  With the D3 now as my primary camera, I reach for this lens less and less and it typically doesn’t travel with me on big trips unless I expect to use it for a specific situation.  Still, its an inexpensive lens and can come in handy in a pinch if necessary.
